Lewis Feuer (1912­) taught sociology at the University of Toronto 
from 1966 to 1976 before moving on to the University of Virginia. 
His numerous books focus on politics and social issues. His 1968 book 
The Conflict of Generations: The Character and Significance of Student  
Movements  raised heated controversy and debate at the time.
